Studio Lighting - Mixed Lighting.
This one was taken in the dark room. This photo was actually out of focus, so I had to edit it to try and incorporate it into the photo. Not proud with the result, but I think this is one of my better works recently.
The two lights sources I used were a red bulb behind John, and a incandescent studio light, reflected off a gold tinted reflector. I edited this photo to emphasize the red in this photo. This was a bit of a challenge to do, as I had to take a photo while holding a reflector at the same time. I could have used a tripod to make the photo a little less 'shaky' and properly framed. Overall though, I like the style of the photo, and I think I did an alright job. But of course comes the familiar question of "What does it mean?". Honestly, it is hard to decipher as to where this photo could have been going when I took it, but i'm gonna try to explain as to how it relates to feeling alone. Poor ol' John is all alone, looking bored, in a tightly enclosed room. I could interpret this as a feeling of being alone, the red light symbolizing hatred and confusion as to why you are feeling down. The brightly lit walls beside him could symbolize happiness, and how someone like our subject here could be feeling left out of the fun. His monotonous face shows his indifference to the situation, showing that he either doesn't care about his situation and has accepted his loneliness, or that he is confused and doesn't know what to do. Interpret however you please, this is just my opinion.
